Years ago, in the Breña Baja Town, in front of Los Cancajos Beach, La Palma Island, there was a beautiful and large country estate known by the name of Hacienda San Jorge.  Here has been built a traditional island complex which respects the local architecture, keeping the same colours that native people used to paint the outside of their houses.

  When you visit the Hacienda San Jorge, you will really admire the undulating gardens; this modern and pretty complex has been put up around a gigantic “Ficus”, some “Drago” trees (the seeds of which are useful to make colourful necklaces) and many old palms.  Gardening work has been done with great care.  For this reason Hacienda San Jorge gardens appeal to guests very much.

  Old path names have also been respected, for example: “navigators path”, “dreams path”, “lovers path”, “orchid path”.  Walking by the “Orchid Path”, it is possible to reach the Orquidiario (Orchid place), where there are more than one thousand beautiful examples.  This special place properly describes deep love feelings for plants.

  If “Lovers Path” is chosen, we will be gently guided by its dense vegetation to go round through its many corners, which hide pretty surprises: the little carp pond, the old duck pond, which one day was the water tank to irrigate the banana country estates.  “Lovers path” is a peaceful way that invites us to rest.

  The gardens at Hacienda San Jorge are not only to be seen, but to be enjoyed. Here, nature is everywhere: sweet scented herbs, the perfume of flower, birds singing and water running in streams and fountains…
