Hacienda San Jorge Gardens
Hacienda San Jorge
A botanical garden in La Palma
When strolling through the garden, or simply gazing at it from the terrace or balcony of any room, we feel immersed in this wonderful symphony of sensations that only nature can perform: the smell of grass, the scent of flowers, the sound of birds, and the flow of water in streams and fountains where water springs from ancient clay jars, rises over a millstone, or cascades into small troughs…
Furthermore, the evocative names of the paths that once traversed the estate have been preserved.
We can only say that while there are many gardens to see, the Hacienda San Jorge garden is, above all, a garden to be felt.
Water and Salt
A piece of the sea in the garden. Barely forty metres separate Hacienda San Jorge from the beach. Given this privileged location, even an element like the swimming pool might not seem so important, but once again we are surprised to find “A piece of the sea in the garden”. In the central part of the gardens lies an impressive pool with over a thousand cubic metres of saltwater, constructed by adapting its shape to a natural depression in the terrain, achieving perfect integration into the surroundings and becoming just another element of the garden itself.
