A walk through San Andrés y Sauces on your visit to La Palma

La Palma is full of beautiful corners with a special charm capable of capturing the attention of visitors. But today we want to talk to you about San Andrés y Sauces, a municipality in the northwest of the island that has lush vegetation, water springs, natural pools, trails and a historic center worth visiting.

Let’s start with the historic center of Los Sauces. After passing the iconic San Andrés y Sauces bridge we discovered the Church of Our Lady of Montserrat. It is a religious temple from the 16th century whose tower can be seen from most of the town. Walking through its streets we can visit the Town Hall, the Plaza de Antonio Herrera and its colorful houses that surround it. Leaving the historic center we can visit the two reservoirs of this Villa del Agua from which you can admire spectacular views.

Now we visit the historic town of San Andrés, covered with cobblestone streets, colorful houses and the aroma of the sea, since this coastal town is one of the most beautiful towns to visit. Among the places that you cannot miss are La Plaza street, the Parish of San Andrés, the Ermita del Pilar or an old lime kiln. You cannot miss visiting the Los Tilos Waterfall with its waterfall from a height of more than 60 meters. The Marcos y Cordero trail is one of the most beautiful hiking routes to do in La Palma.
